Based on the Cabbage Patch Kids. The crying cabbages replace the Baby's Tears plant from KQ6. In KQ6 the Baby's Tears is a pun on baby's tears and the actual 'baby's tears' plant. They were not intended to be cabbages although baring slight resemblance to the cabbage patch kids. In TSL, the crying cabbage cry out "baby's tears", rather than being the name of the plant. Strangely, about a year before the game, the cabbages looked young, but currently look shriveled and old.
