Overtone are a Post-bayrock group featuring Michael Maddox, Jonathan Reid and Greg Newhook. Despite their name, they do not have too much tone, which is probably why they changed the named to Beauwater, which can either be interpreted as an alternate spelling of a MUN residence, or a way to say "beautiful water" if you only half know how to speak French.

  • An overtone is the same as a harmonic. For example, a sound played on a piano will have a fundamental frequency and this frequency will be the basis for the harmonic series as it is also the first harmonic. After the first harmonic which is the fundamental, there is a second harmonic and this is called the first overtone. This can continually repeat in the harmonic series as the third harmonic is called the second overtone and so-on.
  • Overtone* is YET ANOTHER mp3 blog. It's a good one though.
