  • In spring of 2005 there were several protests on the Case Western Reserve University campus regarding the hiring policies of and poor management by Standard Parking, the company in charge of the Greenies. In spring of 2008 the Greenies were outfitted with GPS devices to make their positions trackable online, accurate to within 20 seconds (see External Links). Further plans call for the installation of signposts at significant stops that provide the time until the next bus. However as many students will share, the GPS system only works if the buses are moving on schedule, and it is often faster to walk 20 minutes across campus than to wait for a bus that should arrive in 1-2 minutes. While this has been improved upon in recent years with the actions of the Student Government and complaints of drivers stopping for smoking breaks behind the village that were effectively dealt with, traffic due to construction and poorly designed traffic patterns still plague the greenies.
