The Journal of Rhys Lain is a book written by Rhys Lain, a descendant of Sydney Losstarot. It contains cryptic, prophetic writings about things he had witnessed and things that had yet to come to pass. Rhys, despite hating his ancestry, had come back to Miletos and discovered the city of Lea Monde that his grandfather had ruled from, and chose it to lock away those secrets which, for whatever reason, he'd not left in the Tower of Raistlin, leaving his journal behind as well.

Rhys, despite hating his ancestry, had come back to Miletos and discovered the city of Lea Monde that his grandfather had ruled from, and chose it to lock away those secrets which, for whatever reason, he'd not left in the Tower of Raistlin, leaving his journal behind as well. The journal eventually ended up in the possession of Leon Alcibiates after he had gained access to the ruins. He began deciphering Rhys's writings to the best of his ability between Manster Rebellion and Arawn Losstarot War, and the journal's writings made him see a glimpse of a potential future which he wrote down to his own book in prophetic, ambiguous words.
