The Thorsten class was a class of battleships built and used by the Royal Manticoran Navy. A total of sixteen of these vessels were locally built on the basis of a licensed Solarian design in the 16th Century PD, following the survey of the Manticoran Wormhole Junction. Originally called the Manticore class, the class and the first three units were renamed when the RMN decided to use the names of the Manticore System's planets for the Manticore-class superdreadnoughts. Eleven of them were still in use in 1844 PD, forming the then-core of the wall of battle together with an equal number of Ad Astra-class dreadnoughts. (Companion)
