| - Karla Faye Gideon was an individual listed on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Gifted Index.
Despite being hit by her husband, she stood loyal by his side. She accused Daredevil of beating him. Seven years later, Karla Faye was eventually saved by Daredevil from her own husband.
While she was employed as a nurse, she grafted razors to her fingers to fight her husband. He was not her only victim, however, and she attracted the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D.. To control her powers, they locked braces on her hands that restrained her fingers.
Years later, Cal knocked on Gideon's door, trying to recruit her into joining his crusade against S.H.I.E.L.D. and its current director Phil Coulson. Cal offered to remove the braces from her hands if she joined him. She slammed the door in his face, but his offer was too tempting for her to ignore. She let him in, and his associate Wendell Levi removed the braces. Overjoyed to be able to touch things with her hands again, Karla agreed to join Cal.
Cal's next stop was the Brynmore Psychiatric Facility in Ohio to recruit David A. Angar, another person from the Index, whose voice could put people into a catatonic state. Karla used the razors on her hand to slit the throat of the security guard at the front gate. Once they had Angar, Cal took his team to Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Director Coulson's home town. He had Angar scream in the middle of the local high school's football field, causing the students there to pass out.
Once Coulson arrived, Cal had Karla hold the unconscious students in the bleachers hostage until Coulson surrendered. Before anything could happen, Cal disappeared in a blue energy field. In the ensuing chaos S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Bobbi Morse, who was hiding under the bleachers, fought Karla into the locker room. Agent Morse took her down when she kicked a table up into her face, knocking her out. Karla and the rest of Cal's criminal group were taken into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody.
