Cavendish followed-up by asking him if it was just a coincidence that he had won the Siberian championship four years earlier and had held it ever since. Yezhov blandly responded that his first was, that the favorite had broken his leg in a fall and thus opening the door for him. Cavendish thanked him and ended the interview.
