Airborne (Japanese: 浮遊 airborne) is the term used in Generation VI to describe an immunity to Ground-type moves. While variations of this condition existed in previous generations, via the Flying-type, the Levitate ability, and moves such as Magnet Rise and Telekinesis, all of these effects have been consolidated into a single status condition in Generation VI. Airborne Pokémon are immune to all Ground-type moves (excluding Sand Attack), the Arena Trap ability, and entry hazards such as Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Hot Coals.

| - Airborne (Japanese: 浮遊 airborne) is the term used in Generation VI to describe an immunity to Ground-type moves. A Pokémon can become airborne in several different ways. Flying-type Pokémon become airborne as soon as they enter battle. The moves Magnet Rise, Heat Rise, Heliotrope, Magic Rise, Updraft, Take Flight, and Vapor Rise make the user airborne for five turns. Pokémon will also become airborne while holding a Balloon. Telekinesis will make the target airborne for five turns. The airborne status is removed while Gravity is in effect. The move Roost will cancel out the user's airborne status for the remainder of the turn. A Pokémon that is airborne solely due to a held Balloon will also lose this status if it is hit by a move.
