Hey guys, Cal and I were talking the other day and the subject of a group-wide project, similar to the barn burners, was brought up. Topics relating to Battlefront was one suggestion, but that's just one idea. Any interest? Corellian PremierFile:Robotech.jpgAll along the watchtower 14:46, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hey guys, Cal and I were talking the other day and the subject of a group-wide project, similar to the barn burners, was brought up. Topics relating to Battlefront was one suggestion, but that's just one idea. Any interest? Corellian PremierFile:Robotech.jpgAll along the watchtower 14:46, March 28, 2012 (UTC) * I definitely like the idea. I know of at least one other user who would be willing to help out some. As for the topic, I love the Battlefront games, but I'm not sure what can be done there. If we want to do something similar to the barn-burners, we're going to want something with a lot of available material for status articles. Battlefront has plenty of stuff in it, but not very much new, one-appearance material. Unless instead of focusing on doing status articles, we could focus on cleaning up and working on articles. I know many Battlefront articles could use some cleanup, even if they didn't get status. TFU II has been a personal project for me for some time now, so I'm not sure how many more articles are left that can be taken to status. However, I know TFU I has plenty of material that could be taken to status. Other ideas might be stuff from the Jedi Knight/Dark Forces series, since I know much of that gets left in the dark. Anyway, as CP said, I'm open to suggestions from anyone who wants to help.—Cal JediFile:Infinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 15:25, March 28, 2012 (UTC) * As someone who has practically never played the Battlefront series, I would be unable to contribute. File:Gal-icon.jpg OLIOSTER (talk) 15:41, March 28, 2012 (UTC) * I have Battlefront I and II and TFU. I'd be willing to help out. MasterFredFile:Commerce Guild.svg(Whatever) 15:58, March 28, 2012 (UTC) * I don't mind helping, but I don't have any of the Battlefront games installed at the moment. If this includes other games, I may help with the first KotOR, The Phantom Menace game, the first TFU, and Republic Heroes. As soon as I have some free time, I will install more games and help out. Alexrd 19:15, March 28, 2012 (UTC) * I think we should consider making the project have something to do with a more wide selection of games, such as focusing on weapons specific to the games the project covers. File:Gal-icon.jpg OLIOSTER (talk) 20:25, March 28, 2012 (UTC) * That sounds good. In fact, I'm completely open to suggestions and game ideas. I like pretty much all the Star Wars games, and I have access to many of them, so I'm pretty open on this. Another question is would we concentrate on taking articles to status, or just on getting game articles cleaned up and up to date? Kinect Star Wars is going to be out in a few days, so that's going to need some attention, but I'm afraid I'm not going to get it. Is anyone else going to? Anyway, this thing is sounding good so far. Everyone feel free to continue throwing in suggestions on what to do and when to do it. Non-project members are welcome to help, too, of course, but I encourage you to join. :) —Cal JediFile:Infinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 02:25, March 29, 2012 (UTC) * I'd be willing to help out where i can Han shoots first 02:33, March 29, 2012 (UTC) * Thus far, I personally am liking Olioster's idea of doing a theme work. That way, people will have a wider selection of what games to work on. Rather than just working on TFU or Battlefront, we could work on weapons, characters, battles, etc. What does everyone think of that idea?—Cal JediFile:Infinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 13:46, March 29, 2012 (UTC) * Okay, so far it looks like people are interested in the project. I like the idea of themes as well. Han shoots first suggested locations on IRC, and I guess i'm preferential to that. Corellian PremierFile:Robotech.jpgAll along the watchtower 23:22, March 30, 2012 (UTC) * I like that idea, locations seems like a unique thing to do. Planets, countries, bars, shops, so on and so forth. File:Gal-icon.jpg OLIOSTER (talk) 23:26, March 30, 2012 (UTC) * That sounds good. I haven't done much with locations before, so it will be an interesting venture for me. If no one has any problems with this, I'm all set to get the show on the road. I like the idea of keeping it open, as Oli said; any and all locations associated with the project. So, does anyone have any other thoughts, suggestions, or problems before we get this thing started?—Cal JediFile:Infinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 00:06, March 31, 2012 (UTC) * Locations sound good to meHan shoots first 01:27, March 31, 2012 (UTC) * Locations seems to be the general consensus. So, if there's nothing else to be discussed, I guess we can start right away. I'll try to get some location articles up and moving myself. The focus should be to get articles to status, but if anyone can't for whatever reasons, no worries. Just feel free to clean up those articles and help out wherever you feel you can. We can leave this thread active so we can use it to discuss anything we come across. So, unless there's anything else to be added, I declare a start to WP:VG's first group project! Happy editing, everyone!—Cal JediFile:Infinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 16:05, April 10, 2012 (UTC) * The first nomination is complete. Ebenmal is now the first status article of the group project. We still have several current nominations, so keep up the good work, everyone!—Cal JediFile:Infinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 00:39, April 17, 2012 (UTC)
