In 2372, heavy solar flare activity caused electrodynamic turbulence throughout the Drayan star system, including on their crysata moon. This turbulence caused the crash of a Drayan shuttle and a shuttle carrying Lieutenant Tuvok and Ensign Bennet, and impeded USS Voyager's efforts to rescue them. (VOY: "Innocence") Electrodynamic turbulence in the Nekrit Expanse hampered efforts by the USS Voyager to contact Commander Chakotay and Ensign Kaplan in 2373. (VOY: "Unity") Later in 2373, a shuttle carrying Tuvok, Neelix, and Sklar crashed on a Nezu colony planet due to a layer of atmospheric electrodynamic turbulence. (VOY: "Rise")
