Jaggen first appears in Briefing with Gruppenführer Jaggen in which he is introduced to Erik Schneider and Nazario Battista by Rafael Z. Wolfram. Described as being in his late forties with slicked black hair, he is one of the only men alive who truly commands the fear of Wolfram, actively insulting both the Major and his division. He is, however, hated by his subordinates and has been described as a "pig" on a number of occasions. Jaggen is also implied to be an alcaholic of sorts. During his introductory thread, he derides the Waffen SS for their ineptitude but eventually gives in to her leaders' pleas and grants them leave to fight on the front line.

During his introductory thread, he derides the Waffen SS for their ineptitude but eventually gives in to her leaders' pleas and grants them leave to fight on the front line. He is later mentioned in Promotion in the Works where it is revealed that it was he who granted Hartwig Kriegheld his promotion to Hauptsturmführer as well as his transfer to the Waffen SS 2nd Division Das Reich. Jaggen was mentioned once more in The Plan or the Dead End where it is revealed that he has been promoted to Obergruppenführer. Following the death of Wolfrick Wolfram, he sent a letter expressing his deepest regrets to Wolfram senior, perhaps implying that the two have warmed to eachother since the events of Meeting with Gruppenführer Jaggen.
