Kailio Entertainments secured the rights to the Baby Ludi story, beating out three other companies in its bid. The final asking price was not disclosed. One such trade holo, Verisimilitude, reported that studios had been prepared to pay upwards of 125 million credits to secure the deal, not counting merchandising rights. Pre-production on the film had been greenlighted for a full-length production. Harissa Shoti was hired to portray Jonava Billane, the mother of Baby Ludi.
