Atlia has a total geographic area of 2,724,900 square kilometres, the vast majority of which is made up by the island of the same name, which is considered to be the Atlian mainland. Various smaller islands are located close to the Atlian mainland, and there are also several groups of islands with political associations to Atlian nations that result in their inclusion as a part of the subcontinent, though they made geographically be located on different tectonic plates. The Atlian mainland was physically connected to the Antarctic continent during the Last Glacial Maximum, as from 24,500 BCE to approximately 12,500 BCE the landmasses were connected by large ice sheets which rested upon the southern part of the Atlian mainland.
