3D glasses were a novelty form of eyewear used by movie-goers in the mid to late 20th century. When watching a 3D film, the glasses were worn to allow for the processing of special effects and other details not seen in a standard film production. Most models were made from a cardboard frame with plastic lenses of red and blue in either hole. Later forms were built of plastic with black lenses typical of sunglasses.
