Filmore was among the handful of men that were aboard Dr. Tod's dirigible when they attacked New York City in September 15, 1946. When Jetboy attacked the dirigible, Filmore was one of the first to die. By Smooth Eddie's account he was thrown from the gondola without a parachute when the JB-1 collided with the dirigible.
