A Bloggling is a species found in the GameCube video game Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. They are found only in water, such as in the Hydrodynamo Station (only after you release the first lock), among other places. They're the offspring of a Blogg, and thus are much smaller and weaker. Generally they won't ram into Samus as their older, stronger parents do, and they are also relatively easy to kill. Because they aren't strong, they apparently must rely on their agility and speed once attacked.

  • A Bloggling is an infantile Blogg, and has not yet developed its three maws and sonic blast ability. Bloggings are still aggressive, however, using ram attacks to bring down and eat foes. They appear in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. In most rooms where Bloggs appeared prior to Samus clearing them, Bloggings will instead be present on her following visits. This rule is not universal, as there will still be Bloggs in some areas. Some of these rooms include Hydrodynamo Station, Main Hydrochamber and Training Chamber.

  • Young Bloggs are weaker than their parents, but still violent. Their powerful jaws have yet to form, and they lack the defense abilities found in adult Bloggs. They rely on speed and agility for protection if attacked. Without the protection of their elders, they are still vulnerable.

A strange effect occurs when battling Bloggings. Samus can shoot them to inflict damage, but if she is to shoot them in exactly the same spot, they may not take damage at all. This glitch only occurs in the original version of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Blogglings can be shot normally to inflict damage in later versions of the game (New Play Control! Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and in Metroid Prime Trilogy).
