An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : 134.155.108.49:8890 associated with source dataset(s)

A guitar pickup which has an individual coil and output for each string. Hex pickups (and they seem to be called this regardless of how many strings the pickup actually picks up) are used most commonly as inputs to guitar synthesizers, which have circuits for each string that detect the frequency and amplitude of the notes being played on each string. These convert the information into control signals of some sort to control the synth proper. Doing it this way is much easier, from a computational standpoint, then taking a single audio output from a conventional guitar pickup and trying to pick out the individual notes from a chord.
