Michael Richard (born July 9, 1966 in Scarborough, Ontario) is a retired Canadian ice hockey forward who played seven games in the National Hockey League, all with the Washington Capitals, and scored two assists. He played junior hockey for the Toronto Marlboros from 1983 to 1987. Undrafted by the NHL, he signed as a free agent with the Capitals in 1987. Richard spent three seasons (1987-1990) in the Capitals' system, mostly playing for the Baltimore Skipjacks of the American Hockey League (AHL). He won the Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award as the AHL's top rookie in 1987-88.

He won the Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award as the AHL's top rookie in 1987-88. In 1990 Richard left for Switzerland where he played until his retirement in 2007. The exception was the 1991-92 season when he played in Milan, Italy.
