The 2007 Latin American Tour was a short series of shows by the band Coldplay in Latin America, between February and March 2007. The band toured for the first time in South America and also performed in Mexico. There were only a handful of shows, and held in small places, compared to what the band is used to do and the seats it could have filled if bigger sites were booked. But they wanted to play in small, intimate places. Mostly, theaters and small arenas. They visited Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico playing a total of 11 shows.

The band had ended their acclaimed Twisted Logic Tour in July 2006 after playing for 13 months and some 130 gigs and stayed quiet for some months. On December 1, 2006, Will Champion announced, via their web site that they were rehearsing for a South American tour that followed. Shortly after the shows went on sale. In December 2006 the band started working on new songs which had been written in the past months. But the progress was scarce when they embarked on this tour. However it is widely known that this visit to latin countries influenced them in a great sense for their upcoming album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. Even more, the phrase viva la vida was suppousedly taken from a paint by Frida Kahlo the band saw in Mexico while on tour. They later said that in the album there are hispanic influences. A Limited Latin American Tour Edition of the band's X&Y album was released in January 2007 in accordance to the tour.
