  • The spear gun is a small gun found in Fallout Tactics.
  • The Spear Gun is the perfect sniping weapon, and its secondary ammo types are both powerful and versatile. If one possesses enough twitch-aim capabilities, one may even use it in direct combat to deadly effect. However, this weapon is also difficult to handle both inside and outside of combat, and in the hands of a less experienced player may even lead to more harm than good. While a veteran sniper will be able to pin the entire contents of a room to the wall without ever getting attacked, most others will end up wasting ammunition, EVE and First Aid Kits in an attempt to score a headshot. As such, it is only recommended to specialize in the Spear Gun if one knows how to handle a long-range weapon well.
  • The Spear Gun is a recurring weapon in the Tomb Raider series. It appears in games that have multiple aquatic levels.
  • When fired, it throws the loaded spear at the target, which deals 3 times the normal damage of the spear. The spear lands on the ground next to the attacked mob and must be picked up and loaded again. The spears lose 10 uses when fired though the Spear Gun. The Spear Gun itself has 8 uses. Poison and fire effects of Poison Spear and Obsidian Spear apply when they are launched with a Spear Gun.
  • The Spear Gun was a cut weapon that was to be featured in Battlefield 2: Special Forces. The expansion was to have underwater levels but this concept, along with any weapons related to it, was scrapped early in development. It would have most likely have been used to shoot enemies underwater.
  • The Spear Gun is a weapon featured in Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden Black, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus. Though it's primary use is against underwater targets, it can also be fired out of water with diminished effect. It has no ammunition limit. Succeeded in Ninja Gaiden II by the Gatling Spear Gun.
  • A spear gun was a projectile weapon designed for underwater use. The Sedrians from the planet of Sedri used the weapon as their primary armament, and they were available on oceanic planets such as Spira. It was the weapon of choice for Quarren Deep Hunters.
  • The Spear Gun is Fish Wrangler's only transitionary pole. That is to say, this pole does not have a long shelf life as the aim is to upgrade this pole to the Pneumatic Spear at some juncture. At that point, the Spear Gun is converted to a Pnuematic Spear and as such, it will no longer be possible to fish anymore with this basic spear gun. As such, this pole does not have a set of Quests associated to that pole, nor have any fish that can only be caught by that pole. The Spear Gun is not a standard pole per se, but should be viewed more of a 'stepping stone' to the Pneumatic version.
  • In the 1965 film Thunderball, spearguns are used by James Bond, Emilio Largo's men, the U.S. Navy Frogmen, and Domino Derval. Bond used one to kill Largo's henchman, Vargas. In the underwater battle, both the Navy and Largo's men used the spearguns to fight each. On the Disco Volante, before Largo kills Bond with a pistol Domino kills Largo with a speargun to avenge her brother. In The Spy Who Loved Me, Bond manages to get away from the Liparus crew by killing two guards with a speargun found on top of a cart filled with tanks.
