I hate pompous characters like him... but I like him more than 24 other characters because he was satisfying to take down. And, for a Case 1 villain, he put up a relatively good fight, and had the balls to attack Phoenix Wright himself. His ramblings were fun to read, too.

- Richard Wellington is the villain of the first case of the second Ace Attorney game. He was a con artist, part of a larger ring. While walking thourgh the park one day, he lost his phone. The phone was found by Maggey Byrde and Dustin Prince, who agreed to meet him and give him back his phone. When Richard entered the park, he saw Dustin still in his police uniform and broke into a panic. Since the phone had the names and numbers of the other con artists, he realized he and the group would be finished if the police got a hold of it. He killed Dustin by shoving him off a ledge, breaking his neck. He then tried to pin the murder on Maggey.

Shortly before the trial, he found Maggey's attorney, Phoenix Wright, holding the phone. He picked up a fire extinguisher and hit Phoenix on the head, knocking him out and causing him to develop temporary amnesia. By mistake, he stole Wright's phone rather then his own. Phoenix later used this to catch him, calling his own phone to prove Richard tried to steal it, which in turn proved his guilt to the crime.
