On the night of the ball, Gargamel along with Azrael went there to act as a chaperon to the young wizards and witches attending it. Although he was supposed to be doing chores at home, Scruple secretly attended the ball as Brenda's date. Smurfette and some of her fellow Smurfs secretly watched over Brenda at the ball to give her encouragement, only to spot Gargamel and Scruple there...the latter of which turned out to be Brenda's date! Once the wand was back in her possession, Brenda turned Gargamel, Scruple, and Azrael into pigs for one whole day. She also restored the boys that were turned into frogs by Gargamel's use of the wand, causing the rest of the ball guests to cheer. After the ball, Brenda found herself being followed by a group of boy wizards who were interested in her.
