| - Once you start this quest take the Railings with you and search the fence in the front of the Coal Trucks to fix the broken rails. You are given six Railings, so find the six spots in the fence by right clicking and selecting "search" on each piece of fence(1 per tile). If you fail to replace a railing, you will be hit for 2 damage. When you have repaired all 6, return to the Dwarf commander.

It can be bought from Dwarf Cannon engineer's store, which can be found south of the Ice Mountain for 750,000gp. If the cannon is lost or stolen, it can be replaced for free by the Dwarf Cannon engineer. You must complete the Dwarf Cannon quest to have access to it. The cannon consists of four pieces: the base, the stand, the furnace, and the barrels.
- The damaged railings around the complex are clearly bent, repair these by "inspecting" the appropriate sections of railing. If you fail to repair a rail, you may take 1 or 2 damage or your Strength or Crafting will be temporarily reduced. After repairing all 6 rails, talk to the Captain. Captain Lawgof will explain that communication has stopped with the watchtower. Head south to the watchtower just south of the gate near the dwarf commander, and investigate. Note: Make sure you actually finish the conversation with Captain Lawgof, otherwise the dwarf remains will not spawn.
- Starts as a dwarf, summonable when you're guthix god level is 3. He has 10 strength and 4 speed. He must have a turn without movement before he can setup the cannon, and the cannon itself cannot move, so it is most often used to defend portals as a last defense mechanism. When setup it gains strength to 25, and can take down most units by itself in 1 or 2 turns, often before they get close enough to do damage. The cannon has a max range of 7, which is the farthest in the game. It does have a blind spot however, as it cannot hit enemies right next to it. if they approach and get that close, without support the cannon will be destroyed.
