| - The 1936 German Ice Hockey Championship was the 20th season of the German Ice Hockey Championship, the national championship of Germany. Berliner Schlittschuhclub won the championship by defeating SC Riessersee in the final. The championship was played at the Lindestadion in Nuremberg from February 21-23, 1936. The final could not be played in Nuremberg due to rain, so it took place in Munich on March 9. Among the regions (Gaus), only seven teams signed up for the national championship. Consequently, the local team of HG Nuremberg was invited as the eighth participant, despite a poor showing in the Bavarian Championship. After losing 3-0 to EC Bad Tölz, the team had to play in the Promotion/Relegation round of the A-Klasse, where they were defeated by MEV and MRC from Munich. A maximum of two teams from each Gau, plus the defending national champion, were eligible to participate in the national championship. Two teams from Brandenburg (II/III) and Bavarian (XVI) Gaus were allowed to enter, although Nuremberg's participation increased the number to three. One team from the Gaus I, IV, and XIV/XV also entered. There were no teams from Gaus V/VI, VII/VIII, and IX-XIII. The season was abbreviated due to the 1936 Winter Olympics being hosted by Germany. The Brandenburg (Berlin) Championship was not contested this year.
