Cilwelli was one of two planets in the Hust system. It was largely mountainous and the climate was less than desirable. However, after a large mineral find was discovered on the planet's sixth continent the world came under the domination of the Hutt Empire. As a result Cilwelli earned a reputation as a vile world. Because it was on the edge of the Outer Rim the laws of the Republic were not often enforced. Therefore illegal activity rooted itself in the planet's culture. By the time of the Clone War Cilwelli became an eager member of the Confederacy. However, after the Empire came to power Cilwelli rallied against their new rulers. As a result the various enemy faction on the world joined forces and allied themselves with the Rebel Alliance.
