"The Forerunners are closing in on the gates..." Balnesh said. "I suppose so, our military is exhausted if we are attacked we'll barely be able to put up a fight, our troops will surrender in days." Eir responded. "Oh, by the way how the Council feel about these...turn of events?" Balnesh changing the subject. "They feel that they should've surrendered back at Charum Hakkor, and attempt to have diplomatic negotiations with the Ecumene." Eir said. "Attempt? Diplomacy? With the Ecumene? They would've sliced the envoy's head off and sent it back here." Balnesh blurted out.

They would've sliced the envoy's head off and sent it back here." Balnesh blurted out. "You seem to have misunderstood the Forerunners. They are generally a peaceful race, until provoked." Eir said. "Ha! Misunderstood, your blinded by the propaganda they give out! They are no peaceful race, the are a war-mongering race, the conquer and slaughter innocents! Then they strip the planets of all it's resources, but claim to be searching for precursor artifacts! " Balnesh yelled. "Be calm brother, the meeting is about to start. Let's go." Eir calms Balnesh down and they head into the Council chamber. "Men, we have called you all here today to announce the current situations of this war and the Ecumene." Supreme High Councilor said. "But what about the San 'Shyuum? They have betrayed us!" A Councilor yelled out. "The San 'Shyuum were outnumbered and outgunned, not to mention that they were a lower tech tier than us and the Forerunners." Eir responded. "Eir is right councilor, they couldn't fight off mass amounts of Forerunner weaponry, not to mention they're not a very intelligent species." Balnesh said. "Now, if we have that cleared away, lets focus on this war, the Ecumene has presented that if we do not surrender, they shall unleash a full scale strike on Sol and our home Erde-Tyrene. He paused for a moment. "And, they shall devolve our race to a pre-industrial rate. Surrender or not." He ended. "They really are considering that High Councilor?" Eir asked. "They've already made the decision." He responded. "So...this is the end of the road." Balnesh said calmly. The meeting ended and all the councilors exited the chamber. "We tried our best. Do you risk the extinction of your race, or save it for many more generations to come?" Eir said. "I just hope in those later generations we destroy every last one of them." Balnesh said.
