During the Jedi Civil War, Captain Tethet remained in command of Battleaxe, one of the few Interdictor-class vessels to remain in service with the Republic in the wake of the disaster at Foerost. He and his ship were eventually reassigned to the Second Fleet under the overall command of Vice Admiral Forn Dodonna, after having spent the first years of the war helping to defend the shipyards of the Corellian Engineering Corporation. As a part of the task force that would take on Darth Revan's fleet as the Jedi Order attempted to capture the Dark Lord, Tethet helped to protect Admiral Dodonna's flagship, Vibrosword. In addition, the three squadrons of Aurek tactical strikefighters carried by Battleaxe were to escort the Jarhead-class assault lander that would ferry the boarding party onto the Sith flagship. On the way to the rendezvous point Coreward of Ord Mantell, however, Tethet and Battleaxe were interdicted by the Sith Interdictor cruiser Wrangler. The latter vessel, having suffered heavy casualties and damage as a result of a general mutiny in the wake of a skirmish in the Upestis system, sought to surrender to the Republic. Tethet, sensing opportunity, accepted, and persuaded the defecting warship's ranking officers to accompany him further on, though he did not inform them of their ultimate destination or what their mission was. After having formed up with Admiral Dodonna's task force and reported the situation, Tethet helped to coordinate the fleet's efforts to bring Wrangler back up to combat readiness in preparation for the mission to take place the next day.
