- URN (англ. Uniform Resource Name) — единообразное название (имя) ресурса. На английский манер произносится как слово earn, по-русски чаще говорят [у-эр-э́н]. URN — это постоянная последовательность символов, идентифицирующая абстрактный или физический ресурс. URN является частью концепции URI (англ. Uniform Resource Identifier) — единообразных идентификаторов ресурса. Имена URN призваны в будущем заменить локаторы URL (англ. Uniform Resource Locator) — единообразные определители местонахождения ресурсов. Но имена URN, в отличие от URL, не включают в себя указания на местонахождение и способ обращения к ресурсу. Стандарт URN специально разработан так, чтобы он мог включать в себя другие пространства имён.

- The Functional Requirements for Uniform Resource Names are described in RFC 1737. The URNs are part of a larger Internet information architecture which is composed of URNs, Uniform Resource Characteristics (URCs), and Uniform Resource Locators (URLs). Each plays a specific role:
* URNs are used for identification,
* URCs for including meta-information.

- The Urn is an item required to complete the "Ashes to Ashes" sidequest in Silent Hill: Downpour. The urn is on a bedroom dresser on the second floor of a house on Rice Street at Pleasant River. Accompanying the urn is a photo labeled "Our Favorite Place" found in the first floor living room, and an announcement for the funeral of Alison Elaine Wearden. The ashes must be taken to the docks behind the Wearden house and scattered on the bench from the picture to complete the sidequest. It will also reveal a five-digit code to a safe on the second floor of the Wearden house.
