  • The AM-9 SMG is a .416 caliber (10.5 x 30mm) fully automatic sub machine gun developed and manufactured by Armor Militant. The AM-9 SMG was designed as a successor to the H&K MP5 and based on it's caliber more lethal than and possesses better stopping power than the H&K UMP. The AM-9 is a blowback-operated, magazine-fed submachine gun firing from an closed bolt. As originally designed, the AM-9 is chambered for larger cartridges than other submachine guns like the MP5 and UMP, to provide more stopping power against unarmored targets while retaining penetration and explosive power more than the 9x19mm MP5 provides. A larger cartridge produces more recoil, and makes control more difficult in fully automatic firing. To mitigate this, the cyclic rate of fire was reduced to 700 rounds/min, which makes it one of the slower firing submachine guns on the market. It fires the 10.5 x 30mm .416 caliber bullet, slightly smaller than the .45ACP but with added armor piercing bullet tips and explosive rounds. Its predominantly polymer construction reduces both its weight and the number of parts susceptible to corrosion. The AM-9 is available in four trigger group configurations, featuring different combinations of semi-automatic, 3-round burst, fully automatic, and safe settings. It features a side-folding buttstock to reduce its length during transport. When the last round of the AM-9 is fired, the bolt locks open, and can be released via a catch on the left side. The standard viewing sights comprise of rail mounted sights. The rear sight is solid while the front can be flipped up or flipped down. A rail mount allows the attachment of red dot sights. It can mount three Picatinny rails (one on top of the receiver, and one on the right, left) for the attachment of accessories such as optical sights, flashlights, or laser sights. New non-lethal attachments can be added as well, such as a mounted taser, green blinding lasers or deafening audible sound weapons.
