R2 soon became the brains of many of Anakin’s missions. He traveled with him back to Tatooine, ten years later, where he met C-3PO. They quickly became close partners. R2 was also involved in a plot to trick the Galactic Domain. The situation was rigged to look like R2 carried the secret plans to the Death Star, when they were with Princess Leia, the whole time. As a result, he and C-3PO were hunted down. However, R2 and C-3PO managed to fall into the hands of Luke Skywalker, Anakin’s son, whom took them in as his droids. R2 later joined Luke on many of his missions as his astromech co-pilot.
