When Stan Ogden obtained a job working nights at a bakery, wife Hilda tried her best to ensure that he obtained a good "day's" sleep by trying to keep everyone as quiet as possible, but only ended up rowing at the top of her voice with the binmen, Annie Walker and later Two Boys who were playing football with a tin can underneath the bedroom window of 13 Coronation Street. The boys were unimpressed, one of them telling Hilda to "drop dead" but Stan had had enough and went to sleep at the Builder's Yard instead.
