Although most of the NCIS personnel were safely evacuated, the members of the main NCIS Major Case Response Team were all placed in quarantine, the four having had direct contact with the letter that contained traces of the pnemonic plague and while team leader, NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs and NCIS Special Agents Timothy McGee and Caitlin Todd managed to avoid getting the plague, NCIS Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo, the senior agent of the team was later revealed to have been infected with pnemonic plague but despite that, DiNozzo ultimately made a full recovery while Hanna Lowell, the woman who had orchestrated the attack was later arrested.
