The Hylian Shield is known as being one of the most highly suggested shields in the series. It has been masterfully crafted and features an emblem of the Triforce in the middle, the constantly appearing eagle below it, and various other designs that distinguish it from other shields. Because of the material its made of, it can withstand fire, unlike other shields which will burn up. In Ocarina of Time, it's actually not the most powerful shield, with that title going to the Mirror Shield, which is better primarily for its ability to reflect light. It has been said that the shield is so powerful due to magic that surrounds it, though this cannot be confirmed.
