First there was only sameness. all zeroes, all the same. If you looked you couldn't tell where anything started or ended because it was all so equal. Some will say (correctly) that there was nothingness and then, suddenly, there was a single 1 in this sea of zeroes (or a zero in a multitude of ones). A difference from the sameness appeared. This was the first thing. [or factor of difference in The story of all everything] So something came out of nothing. -- But this nothingness wasn't a pure lack of things, it was simple sameness.
