In Metroid Fusion, the Central Reactor Core is a part of the Reactor Silo that had lost auxiliary power. Samus went to the Auxiliary Power Station to restore this power. Next, she had to enter Sector 2 through a hidden passage, and after a spar with her deadly X mimic, she progressed on to defeat Nettori and stopped the vegetation from choking the activity of the Main Deck. Sector 2 is a few rooms away from this room, so Samus can get to this sector faster.
