Baronet Captain Kresca is an elderly Melcene, from the Melcene Islands. Twenty years prior to the EVENT, the Final Choice, he had absented himself from the Melcene Islands due to some ugly rumors, so he moved to Dal Perivor. He managed to change shipbuilding in Perivor and was given a baronetcy after winning a race of Perivor ships. He spent five years in the shipyards supervising construction and was finally let back to sea. He had short-cropped silvery hair, and a deeply tanned and weathered face. Garion thought that he was like Greldik.
