Wizarding America is divided into territories in much the same way that Muggle America is divided into states. The total number of these territories is currently unknown – though they number fewer than the states of Muggle America – but includes Alta California, Central, Deseret, New Amsterdam, Arcadia, Plymouth, Roanoke, and the Indian territory of Dinétah. When European wizards immigrated to the New World, four original territories were established.
