Dr Reed was a doctor who looked after Moira Dingle when she was brought into hospital unconscious following the birth of her son during a barn fire in October 2017. He explained to Moira's son Adam that Moira suffered a postpartum haemorrhage which required a blood transfusion. The next day, Dr Reed explains to Moira that her placenta was on the front, preventing her from feeling the baby. Moira worried that drinking through her pregnancy may have harmed the baby, but Dr Reed says the baby "was" fine. When Moira picks up on the use of past tense, the doctor is forced to explain that her son was abducted by Moira's sister-in-law Emma.
