The Scythe-class Assault Ship is an original Grand Army of the Republic cruiser. It was made in the late days of the recent New Republic had fallen. The Grand Army needed a small crusier that could perform the duties of a Venator, but smaller, cheaper, and be deployed in masses. The Scythe was the solution. A small hangar that could fit 2-3 fighters or some vehicles along with enough room to hold a large squad or platoon sized element. The Scythe could fit any role in the Grand Army's fleet.
