Klaren was born in La Mesa, California. Upon graduation from high school at the age of 16, she began attending the Actor Training Program at San Joaquin Delta College. She also received acting training at Tracy High School in California and is a classically trained light opera singer. Klaren's stage credits include lead roles in productions of The Taming of the Shrew, Little Women, and Beauty & the Beast. She starred as Sandy in two productions of Grease, for which she was named Best Actress Award at the Pleasanton Players Awards in 2007.
