Wunderground is a magical sub-surface mass transit system operating in metropolitan New York. Stations are located in numerous hidden locations throughout the five boroughs and nearby areas of New Jersey (Hoboken, Weehawken and Jersey City). When wizarding folk approach a station entrance, the emblem of Wunderground, a golden "W" in a golden circle, appears. When magical passengers state their destination, they are enabled to step through a wall into the station. Wunderground stations are essentially similar, with barrel-vaulted ceilings, decorative tile walls and gas lamps, large enough to hold a single Wunderground car, which appears to be an antique subway car, with brightly-lit interiors, upholstered seats and polished wood paneling.
