Duranite was a material used in the construction of biobeds used aboard United Earth Starfleet starships in the 2150s. In 2154, when modifying a biobed, Charles Tucker III suggested to T'Pol that she should remove the duranite caps for better sticking things together. For reasons unknown to Tucker, the things worked better without the caps. (ENT: "The Aenar")
