The Tactical Response Element is the basic deployable unit of maneuver in the CDF-NR. A Tactical Response Element consists of one combat arms branch maneuvering unit, and its attached support and fire units. Generally speaking all of this will be contained within the combat arms vessels, as the idea behind the TRE was developed with the New Republic Navy in mind. A Tactical Response Element carries with it support units necessary to sustain its operations separate from its parent unit. There are different types of Tactical Response Elements, each built around a different idea and a different type of battle. All are modular, but have key elements that stay the same, allowing it to continue a fight, even if the battle landscape has changed.
