When he met Usagi and Chibiusa (who both introduced themselves as Mamoru's "girlfriends") he was even more dispirited, as he did not think Usagi and Mamoru's relationship was serious. He supported Saori in her endeavour to confess her love to Mamoru and give a gift. However, after Saori discovered how serious Usagi and Mamoru's relationship really was, Saori gave up on Mamoru and gave the gift, a tie, to Kobayashi instead.
