The 1949 Wilkes 200 was a Strictly Stock event held at North Wilkesboro Speedway on October 16, 1949. It was the season finale. Bob Flock won his second race of the year, taking over after Bill Blair lost an engine while leading late. Despite a poor 16th place effort, Red Byron won the inaugural championship. Stats
