In FY 992, Artur Hawkwing sent a massive army of 2,000 ships across the Aryth Ocean to Seanchan; this army was headed by Luthair. Lords and ladies of Seanchan are said to be of his blood. Oaths to protect Luthair's son were sworn over Luthair's dead body, beginning the tradition of the Deathwatch Guards.
