It is known in London that Admiral Canaris, the leader of the Abwehr, is no friend of Hitler, but an avowed German nationalist, nevertheless. The British Agent, known only as "Karl" to London, meets with Canaris, and reveals that the British want to kill Hitler. Canaris, knowing that the Führer's lucky streak of European successes could be undone in Russia, the Nazi Leader's next goal, agrees to help with the plot to assassinate Hitler, but it should look like an accident, or unintended.
