The Heart of Fudo was a powerful artifact in the shape of an egg. It was like the Egg of P'an Ku, a yin to its yang. The Fudoists found a way to bind a fragment of the mad dragon P'an Ku, in a shape of a heart. It was an actual piece of P'an Ku, then it contained some of his memories and power.
