Albert Szarbo was a professional criminal, having every felony on the book except robbery. Szarbo and an unidentified Asian man were planning a break-in at a hotel where James "Sonny" Crockett and Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs were assigned to, even going as far as "including" the Vice cops on the plans. After having a little fun with Candy James and getting bad information on Crockett & Tubbs from a suspended cop running a prostitution ring out of the hotel, plans were made to hit the safe deposit boxes, but they hit them before Crockett & Tubbs were notified, and were shocked that their score consisted of papers...then a Thai assassin sent by General Lao Li killed both Szarbo and his Asian co-hort in a particularly violent manner as a warning to others not to make the same mistake they did.
