Adolescence is a transitional stage of physical and psychological human development that generally occurs during the period from puberty to legal adulthood (age of majority). Most sources state that adolescence begins at puberty and terminates at (legal) adulthood; most cultures define the end of adolescence by the beginning of legal adulthood rather than by biological adulthood or full biological adulthood.
